A very good week-end for the 2021 Turkey season in Pickens County, Alabama just 12 miles south of Columbus, MS on the Tenn.-Tombigbee Waterway. I took a nice Longbeard on opening day and was fortunate to take another Longbeard early the next morning. Finally, I returned the next week-end and took my 3rd Longbeard of the sesaon on my 3rd hunt. I hunted from Double Bull Ground Blinds and my weapon was a Ravin R29x Crossbow. Two of my birds were 4 year olds and had sharp, hooked turned-up spurs and one 4 year old Longbeard had 4 Beards.

My name is Chuck McGinty. I shot this buck the afternoon of November 13th on my property on the big black river close to Bentonia, MS. I was shooting a Mathews Z7, shwacker 2 blade broadhead. I shot the deer broadside at 26 yards, and he only ran 60 yards after the shot. He is a main frame 8 point, with 8-1/2" brow tines. I just had him officially scored and he grossed 130-1/2 and netted 126-1/2. I'm not sure what he weighed, but I weigh about 240 and I believe he was close to that weight as well.
