Below are Images of Bow-Harvested Animals from the 2011-2012 Bowhunting Season that were taken by members of the Mississippi Bowhunters Association.

Mississippi Bowhunter Association Life Member and Area Director, John Ledbetter of Benton, MS. recently took this trophy bull elk in west central Colorado. John harvested this elk on the afternoon of Aug. 28, the second day of the season.  The shot was 13 yards and the bull only traveled 45 yards and lay down in plain sight of the stand.  Marcus and Easton Casano green scored the bull for John at 385 3/8.  John used a Mathew's Monster bow and gold tip arrows, Thunderhead Broadheads with a Scott release.  On the same hunt on Aug. 31, John was able to harvest the above pictured chocolate phase colored black bear.  The shot was at 25 yards and the bear traveled approximately 40 yards.  A Colorado game warden extracted 2 teeth from the bear and he estimated the age at 4 years old. Congratulations John on a great bowhunt and thanks for sharing your good fortune with our bowhunting community.

14. Equipment used. (Bow brand and model, arrow shaft, broadhead, sights etc.)
