Mississippi Bowhunter Association Life Member Wayne Stewart Jr. of Macon, MS enjoyed a very successful bowhunting season for 2011-2012.

Pictured above on the top left was Wayne's first buck of the season. He took this velvet 9 point on opening day (10-1-2011) of the 2011 bow season. He had a 40 yard shot and as you can see, it was good shot placement. The mature buck (5 1/2 years old) only ran ~100 yards after the shot. Wayne was shooting a Mathews MQ-32, Axis 400 arrows, a Rocket Fixed blad 100 grani Ultimate Steele broadhead.

Pictured above (on the top right and bottom left) is an additional buck Wayne took on 1/10/2012. He took this 13 inch 3 1/2 year old buck (with an inside spread 9 point) with the same bow as his first buck above and was able to recovery him following a 100 yard blood trail. Wayne used the same bow and set up on both bucks. Both deer were taken on land that Wayne manages in Noxubee County, MS.

Pictured on the bottom right is Wayne with his Sharp's Grysbok ( a small, shy, solitary antelope of south-eastern Africa ). Wayne took this Grysbok on the lower Zambezi River (Headwaters of Lake Cahorra Bassa), Tete Province, Mozambique, Africa. Wayne made a 53 yard shot using his 70 pound Mathews Z7 Extreme bow with Easton Axis 400 arrows, 100 grain Rocket Steelheads with 1 1/2 inch cut. Wayne started bowhunting for Sharp's Grysboks in 1994 and finally took one in 2011 after 20 bowhunts.

Congratulations Wayne for having such a fine 2011-2012 season and thanks for sharing your good fortune with our bowhunting community.
