Pictured above is MBA Web Master Joe R. Bumgardner, M.D. with a longbeard that he took 3-23-2011 while bowhunting his Tenn.-Tom Waterway hunting lease in Pickens County, Alabama.

"I just wanted to share with you my good fortune of harvesting my 1st longbeard of the 2011 turkey season. I was fortunate to take this longbeard with my BowTech Destroyer compound bow at 22 yards while bowhunting on the Tenn.-Tom Waterway in Pickens County, Alabama a couple of days ago at our Lee’s Bend Hunting Club. He was a nice 2 year old longbeard (10 ¼ inch beard and 7/8 inch spurs) and responded nicely to my calling (Woodhaven Custom Calls) coming to my turkey decoys (Primos Killer B and Primos Feeding Hen) from across a cut-over ~ 150 yards away. I was bowhunting from my Primos/Double Bull Dark Horse Ground Blind and the gobbler locked-in on the decoys and paid absolutely no attention to my ground blind. My Beman Hunter 400 arrow shaft and 100 grain Hell Razor broadhead did the trick".
