(Page 6)

Pictured above is (L to R) is MBA Member Steve Dugger of Carrollton, MS with his 225 pound wild boar that he arrowed and recovered while bowhunting @ Hillside National Wildlife Refuge (Theodore Roosevelt National Wildlife Refuge Complex near Eden, MS). Steve took this wild boar on 10-5-2009 while hunting a honey locust tree. Below is Steve's account of his bowhunting experience:

"When this wild boar came across a ridge coming to the honey locus tree (that I was hunting), I took a 15 yard shot placing my arrow through the lungs and he went down within 40 yards falling in site of my stand. I was shooting a Mathews Drenalin bow set at 70 pounds and was using a G5 Striker broadhead and Easton Axis Arrows. Hunting with me was my good friend Phillip Whitworth from Yazoo City, MS. (the bottom image). This was also my first hog ever, what a "Drenalin Rush". My wild boar had 2 3/4 inch tusks and he had buckshot in his shoulder. These critters are Tough! Thanks and I am glad to be a bowhunter. Also I would like to thank all members of the MBA... without you guys standing up for this great sport, our children will never get a chance to experience Gods awesome creations!"

Congratulations Steve on taking such a fine animal and thanks Steve for sharing your awesome bowhunting experience with our bowhunting community.
