(Page 21)

Pictured above is Mississippi Bowhunters Association member Trey Bozeman of Flora, MS with a whitetail double taken on 1-6-2010 while bowhunting near Flora, MS (Bozeman Farms). Trey was fortunate to get his 1st bow kill (the 8 point buck) followed by his second bowkill the (the mature doe) just a few moments later during the same bowhunt . Congratulations Trey on accomplishing a 'rare' bowhunting experience and thanks for sharing it with our bowhunting community. Below is D.R. Bozeman's (Trey's father) account of Trey's double harvest.

This is how Trey’s hunt “unfolded”!

Trey got his first bow kill, and also his second.

"He was hunting out of a lock on that we just put up Saturday that was on a major trail leading into some of our winter grazing. A nice 8 point came down the trail and stopped at the fence, between the pines and the ryegrass, presenting a clear 20 yard shot. As he shot, the deer started under the fence and he was hit back farther than you would like. The buck made a circle out in the pasture and then ran back into the pines. Little did we know that he only made it 40 yards in and then expired. Just a few minutes later a 90lb doe came down the trail and Trey got her also. There was no tracking job on that one!

At 9:00 that night we took our dog, "D. R.'s Black River Joe" out to look for the buck. It only took about five minutes. The buck had only gone about 150 yards total. It is better to be "safe than sorry" on one that you are night quite sure about the shot."
