Below is the actual account of MBA member/Area Director B.J. Lewis' bowhunting experience of Sunday, November 29, 2009. Please read on for a delightful bowhunting story as related by B.J. Lewis.

"After a long 9 straight days of hunting, seeing 23 deer, missing 2 does and a bobcat, I finally connected.  I was hunting in Stone County the afternoon of Nov 29.  I slipped into my stand about 2:30 since I ran several deer out of the plot earlier in the week about 3-3:30 in the afternoon.  At 4 o'clock I had 2 deer come into the plot.  I waited for 35 min for them to feed their way into bow range.  As soon as they got into range they got real nervous and I thought they were fixing to bolt but it was 2 more deer coming into the plot.  They all fed to around 30 yards from me and that's when my nerves went wild.  After the 3 misses that week, I tried to calm down and make a good shot.  I settled the pin on it and let her go.  Don't know if it ducked the shot but I hit it in the spine and broke it down.  I had to shoot it again to finish it off.  After the week that I had, I was very happy with the outcome.  In the picture with me is my daughter, Riley Ann, I can’t wait till she is able to get her first one with a bow."

The equipment that B. J. Lewis used is as noted below. Congratulations B.J. on during your part to help us manage the deer herd and thanks for sharing your bowhunting experience with our bowhunting community.
