Pictured above is MBA member and Area Director B.J. Lewis from Wiggins, MS. B.J. is making his contribution in keeping the deer herd properly balanced.

Below is B.J.'s account of his successful evening hunt of Wednesday October 21, 2009.

I got into the ground blind about 5:15 yesterday afternoon. I was playing with my phone till about 6. I heard something behind me about 6:15 and a little buck walked away from the food plot. I kept my head on a swivel to see if the buck would come in behind me. About 6:20 she walked out. I got in position to make the shot. I let the arrow fly and I felt that I had made a good shot. I got the arrow and there was very little blood on it. I found a found a little bile on the ground and my heart sunk. I went to where I saw her go and found one spot of blood. I desided to let her sit a while and go get the dog. We got back and put the Lab(the one in the pic) on the trail. With in 3 mins Sailor had my deer.
I made a perfect double lung shot and she ran 60 yards.

I shoot an 09 Hoyt Alpha Max at about 62 lbs
Goldtip 5575 arrows tipped with a 2 blade Rage

The shot was 18-20 yards

Congratulations B.J. on taking your 1st nice doe of the 2009-2010 season. Thanks for sharing it with our bowhunting community.
