About the Author

Dave Holt grew up hunting and trapping near Sharon, Pennsylvania, At age eight, he entered the field of competitive archery and competed through his teenage years in hundreds of tournaments. He took first place in his class in all but five of these many competitions. He began bowhunting at age 10, taking his first whitetail at age 14. In 1966, Dave entered the Army and served in Colorado, a state that presented tremendous hunting opportunities. After his honorable discharge, Dave remained in Colorado and joined the Denver Police Department in 1968. He was a member of their S.W.A.T. team for the last 16 years of his service. A life-long bowhunting perfectionist, Dave has devoted years improving equipment and analyzing the skills necessary to provide bowhunters a greater chance for success. He has a tremendous desire to assist and educate other bowhunters-believing that education is the key to the preservation of bowhunting. His own performance and the success of those who have learned from him are testimony to his understanding of the sport. Dave is Technical Editor for "Bowhunter" Magazine. He presents bowhunting seminars worldwide. Balanced Bowhunting II is his second independently authored book.
