The 2012 Mississippi Bowhunters Association Annual Awards Banquet was held
Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Cotton Market Venue, Pearl, MS.

Our featured speaker for the 2012 banquet was Fred Eichler, host of the very popular Easton Bowhunting TV and Predator Nation on the Sportsman’s Channel as well as a guest host on Muzzy Bad To The Bone Bowhunting TV. Joining Fred will be his wife and bowhunting partner, Michele.

Fred Eichler

Fred has been involved in archery for the past twenty-one years.  He has successfully harvested numerous trophies with his bow in North America, Canada, and Africa.  He has also completed the Super Slam taking all 29 North American Species with his recurve bow being the first person to accomplish that unbelievable feat.  His past work experience includes working for Bear Archery, managing Arrow Dynamics one of the largest archery pro shops in Colorado, and working as field operations manager of Dart International (the video hunting simulator).  Currently, as a full-time outfitter/guide, Fred’s other interests include hunting, writing, photography, and videography.  He has had articles and/or pictures published in Bowhunter, Bowhunting World, Traditional Bowhunter, Outdoor Life and North American Hunter magazines and has released Traditional Harvests I , II and III, IV and Traditional Harvest V. Look for Fred on the Outdoor Channel on Easton Bowhunting TV with Host Fred Eichler.  Fred is on the pro-staff of Easton, Realtree, Muzzy, Palmer Traditional Bows, Robinson Outdoors, Nikon Optics, Three Rivers Traditional Archery,  Hunter Safety Systems, Delta Targets, and Badlands . Fred Eichler is owner of Fulldraw Outfitters.  When he is not guiding hunters he splits his time between wildlife photography, freelance writing and trapping.  He is the Traditional Editor for Bowhunter Magazine and His articles and photos have appeared in Bowhunter, Bowhunting World, North American Hunter, Buckmasters, Traditional Bowhunter and many other magazines. He was the first person to harvest all of the 29 North American species recognized by Pope and Young with a recurve bow.  He is the host of Easton Bowhunting TV and Predator Nation on the Sportsman’s Channel as well as a guest host on Muzzy Bad To The Bone Bowhunting TV. He resides in Aguilar, Colorado with his wife Michele, their three boys, eleven hounds,  a golden retriever, a chocolate Lab, Ten horses, twenty chickens, one goat and an ugly cat.He worked at Bear Archery in Gainesville Florida and managed an Archery shop in Fort Collins Colorado. He has been bowhunting for 30 years, besides bowhunting his other passions include trapping and predator hunting.His favorite camo is Realtree Max-1 , favorite optics are Nikon EDG 10 x 42, favorite broadhead is Muzzy.  Favorite arrow is Easton Axis, Favorite compound bow is Hoyt Carbon Matrix. Favorite recurve bow is the Hoyt Buffalo. Favorite trail camera is Stealthcam Prowler, Favorite predator guns are Rock River, Thompson Center and  Smith and Wesson. Favorite shooting sticks are Boggear. Favorite Safety Harness is Hunter Safety System. Favorite Clothing Firstlite,  Favorite Packs are Badlands. Favorite ammo is Hornady, Favorite knife is the Fred Eichler Signature knife by Outdoor Edge Cutlery.

Michele Eichler is the CEO of Muzzy Products Corp and has worked in the archery industry for over 26 years. She has been active as a board member of the Archery Trade Association for the past 10 years and current Chairman of the Board and is a member of various bowhunting organizations including the Pope and Young Club and Colorado Bowhunters Association. In addition to her duties at Muzzy Products, she helps with, Fulldraw Outfitters. Michele has been been hunting since she was 12 years old and has taken 10 different North American big game species and 6 African species with her bow.


Ticket Details and Banquet Structure

Admission tickets for the banquet were $35 per person which included the meal. Children tickets (15 y/o) were $15.00 each (children 8 and under required no ticket). Tickets were available at the door, but pre-banquet purchasing of tickets were recommended. Pre-banquet ticket purchases were available online or by contacting any MBA Area Director. All pre-banquet ticket purchases were available for pick-up at the Awards Banquet sign-in/registration desk.

Silent Auction and Social Hour- 4:30 p.m. Dinner- 5:30 p.m. Speakers, Fred and Michele Eichler and Awards Presentations- 6:30 p.m. Live Auction follows.
